How To Get Easy Summer Makeup Look in 5 Simple Steps!
Whether you call it a natural summer look, “off duty model” look, clean aesthetic or soft makeup here are 5 easy steps to achieve the trendiest makeup look of 2022 with minimal effort.
- Skin Prep
Starting at the base, we want a bouncy and smooth surface to work on. Use hydrating products, moisturizers, plumping serums and especially SPF! Layer these on the skin allowing 1-3 minutes to dry/absorb before applying the next to avoid piling (when one product picks up another and it clumps on the skin).

Some of our favourite and recommended products are the Glow Recipe Plum Plump serum, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, Sephora Collection All-Day Hydrator, and the Supergoop Glowscreen
- Choose Your Coverage
This step is entirely up to you, but a little lightweight concealer can help brighten certain areas and even out skin tone. Spot correct with a concealer that matches or is 1 shade lighter than your skin and gently blend out the edges. You can use your favourite creamy concealer or light tinted moisturizer for this step.
What are the best tools to use? Your fingers! Softly blend the product into your skin using the warmth of your fingers or use a damp beauty blender sponge.

Some of our favourite and recommended products are the Nars Pot Concealer, Kosas Creamy + Brightening Concealer (With Vitamin C), and the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer
- Creamy Products Only
In case you’ve been living under a rock, cream blush is all the rage! It gives off the most gorgeous natural flush without becoming overly pigmented (like a powder blush). Pair with a cream bronzer for a sun kissed glow or a liquid highlight for a lit-from-within look.
@__nicolemason is definitely a liquid blush fan! Look at those dewy cheeks!
Some of our favourite and recommended products are the Rare Beauty Soft-Pinch Liquid Blush, Merit Flush Balm Blush, Fenty Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer, and the Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter Wand.
- Swap your Brow Pencils and Brow Pomades for a Gel
Faux-laminated brows are so easy! Pair a long-wearing brow gel with a spoolie and comb through the brows in an upward motion, we don’t want a “surprised” reaction, but a nice lift to the eye and brow bone. If you still want to fill in some sparce areas, use a Tinted Brow Balm like Velour’s Fluff’N Brow 3-in-1 pencil + balm.

- Long Natural Lashes
Two important steps for this one! If you haven't started using a lash serum... this is your sign!
@kaatxbeauty the queen of a natural glow nourishes her lashes with a peptide-based serum daily
Lash serums are used to condition and care for your lashes, a nice hydrated “fresh from the shower” vibe. There's lots of different ones on the market but a peptide-based one is recommended by most as it’s gentle for sensitive eyes and skin and filled with hydrating amino-acids. Our favourite? Velour’s Long & Strong Lash Serum of course!
If you decide to go fancy and break out the mascara, choose one that lengthens rather than volumizes. Tubing mascaras are best for this!
