July 15th is National Clean Beauty Day and it celebrates the clean beauty movement. At Velour, clean beauty means using cruelty-free methods, choosing our suppliers carefully, and innovating for the most sustainable processes. Clean beauty can mean a lot of different things for different brands and consumers so it’s up to you to decide what clean means to you and choose your beauty items accordingly. 

According to National Today, Clean Beauty Day was coined by Juice Beauty, the ‘OG’ of this movement as named by ELLE, Cosmo, Forbes, and more. It was set up to raise awareness about the use of plant-based ingredients that are sustainably and ethically sourced. The brand and its movement focused on the avoidance of harmful ingredients in beauty products with the health of our bodies and the environment in mind. Like many other brands, we’re trying to lead on sustainable innovation and ensure our products are clean, vegan, and cruelty-free. 

Below are our clean beauty routine essentials and the reasons why we absolutely love them! 

Plant Fibre Lashes 

One of our biggest innovations in 2022 has been hemp-derived lash fibres. All components of our Plant Fibre false lashes, from band to fibres, are derived from plants. These plant lashes also come in recyclable packing and are 90% biodegradable. Plant Fibre lashes also look natural and whispy on the eyes, ticking all the boxes for the ‘to-go’ false lashes that feel and look good!
